Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe

Jungfrau Railways offers a unique voyage to the natural wonders of the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch, a UNESCO Word Heritage site. The Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe is the highlight of any Swiss holiday. The visitors gain access to a high-Alpine wonderland of ice, snow and rock, which they can admire from the viewing platforms on the Aletsch Glacier or in the Ice Palace. Nature lovers and railway and aerial cableway fans are guaranteed to be in their element in the Jungfrau Region. The Jungfrau Railway ranks as one of the most impressive achievements in international mountain railway construction and is today still regarded as a masterpiece of railway technology. It runs from Kleine Scheidegg up through the rock of the Eiger and Mönch to Europe’s highest-altitude railway station, the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe at 3,454 metres above sea level.

About Switzerland

Harder Railway: The journey from Interlaken to the Harder Kulm, Interlaken’s local mountain, takes 10 minutes by funicular. There, at 1,322 metres above sea level, you will enjoy a beautiful view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains as well as the Lake Thun and Lake Brienz from the Two Lages Bridge. The restaurant looks like a small castle and they offer evening trains to enjoy a wonderful dinner on Harder Kulm.

Schynige Platte Railway: Those who visit Schynige Platte with the cog railway feel as if they were in the "Belle Epoque". The nostalgic train with wooden benches in the carriages and rolling stock from the 19th century are reminiscent of bygone days. Visitors enjoy a beautiful view of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau during the journey and on the mountain. Schynige Platte is the starting point for well-known walking tours. Also located here is the Alpine Garden, where 600 plant species grow.

Grindelwald – First Aerial Gondola: It’s impossible to imagine the Swiss mountain world as more idyllic than the area surrounding Lake Bachalpsee. The snow-covered peaks of the Alps are reflected in the crystal-clear blue water. First is the starting point for hikes and it offers action: An adrenaline rush and speed thrills are guaranteed on the First Flyer, trottibike scooters or bikes.
