Your travel by train from Brussels to Amsterdam
Travelling at high speed between France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany are the red Thalys trains. The distinctive modern trains are fast and comfortable offering internet access, refreshments and spacious cabins to relax and enjoy the journey. There are two levels of service on-board for passengers to choose from and both offer a superb way to travel the two hours between Brussels and Amsterdam.
Brussels Midi/Zuid station is just five minutes from the centre of this important European city. There are easy connections to other Thalys routes and international trains, the airport and public transport. Amsterdam Centraal is on the banks of the river Amstel and faces the city centre with the central square just a ten minute walk away. There are ferries, trams, buses, bikes and taxis all within a few steps of the station exit. Trains leave regularly for Schiphol Airport too.
Between Brussels and Amsterdam a point to point ticket is a good option but for travellers who want to explore further afield throughout The Netherlands and beyond, there are other rail passes available including a Eurail Select pass for travel in five bordering countries or regional passes like the Eurail Benelux-France pass.

Amsterdam is a city with many faces and visitors will enjoy exploring the pretty canals by boat or bike, stopping for coffee in friendly cafes or browsing boutique shops. The city has a fantastic host of museums on offer from the Rijksmuseum to the Van Gogh Museum or the house of Anne Frank. The River IJ is great to explore, taking a ferry to the north, the arty neighbourhoods and Film Museum.
